Description

One of our signature offerings, Benchmark is cultivated to be equally delicious as brewed coffee as it is pulled as espresso. The components of its comforting flavor profile are selected for their ability to stand up to a deeper roast, without ever tasting over-roasted. With a more developed roast, we pull out deep notes of dark chocolate, molasses and toasted nuts.

We created Benchmark to satisfy those customers looking for a rich, smooth, balanced, and robust coffee. Designed to be amazing in milk, Benchmark performs wonderfully as a hearty cup of filter coffee or as the backbone of a lush cappuccino.

Freshly Roasted: All orders are roasted on Monday and Thursday and are shipped on the same day. Note that if you order Two-Day Shipping after 7am on any given day, your order will be processed the following roast day. We do this to ensure your coffee arrives to you as fresh as possible!

At the Source

This coffee is sourced from Cenfrocafe, which stands for Central Fronteriza del Norte de Cafetaleros, an association of more than 3,000 smallholder farmers in the Cajamarca region of Peru. Cenfrocafe works within the communities of the farmers they serve not only to improve farm output quality and teach best practices, but to provide financial assistance and short-term credit to help these farms get a leg up.

This selection from Cenfrocafe is a regional blend of two coffees near the town of Jaén, brought to us by 782 farmers from the Piadosa Santa Rosa de Lima association and the Jesus Segura Silva association. It is a washed coffee which comprises Typica, Caturra, Catuai, and Bourbon varieties, grown between 1,700 and 2,000 meters above sea level.
