Whether it’s your first cup of the morning or an afternoon pick-me-up, some moments call for a gentler cup of coffee. That’s where Half Moon comes in: this half-caff blend delivers all the comfort of your favorite coffee with only half the caffeine. To create Half Moon, we pair our beloved decaf offering, Nightcap, in a 50/50 blend with a fully caffeinated coffee from Brazil. The resulting profile is sweet and medium-bodied, with notes of walnut, sticky toffee pudding, and vanilla bean—so delicious you’ll want a second cup!

Veloso Family
The Veloso family has been producing specialty coffees in the Cerrado Mineiro region in the countryside of coffee-rich Minas Gerais, Brazil, for decades. This coffee is grown on the family's Paraiso and Santa Cecilia farms on wide plots surrounded by protected wildlife regions. The Velosos maintain 38% of their land as natural forest—well above the Brazilian agricultural regulation of 20%.
For the Velosos, investing in reforestation and conservation of the local biodiversity proves to neighboring farms that it is an important component of the collective sustainability of coffee. The lot is naturally processed: it is spread on drying patios until they reach an 11.5% moisture content, then dry-milled.
Muguira Family
Laguna del Carmen is a Rainforest Alliance certified farm that is owned and managed by the Muguira family. They rely on strong agroforestry principles, and what is unique about their operations is that they grow shade trees such as cedar, teak, and mahogany in order to have a diversified income by selling the wood from those
trees as well as their coffee harvest.
The coffee they cultivate on their farm is a mix of varieties such as Sarchimor, Marsellesa, and H16, all hybrid varieties that show greater resistance to climate change and disease. They wet process, or wash, all of their coffees, and dry mill on the farm before sending to Descamex in the form of green coffee for further processing.
Drinkable but very light and bland. I used a cafelat robot, grinded 17g with a niche zero, and drank it iced with soy milk. Would not buy again.

Perfect blend of beans- comforting flavors, full body brew. A darker medium roast which is our preferred. This 2 LB bag gets my husband and I several weeks of daily pourover and because its half the caff we can drink more of it without getting wired. Win win!

Finally, an answer to our dilemma of trying to purchase caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee to mix together and hope that it still tastes good and isn’t over or under caffeinated. YAY!
