Roasting Fundamentals

During the coffee roasting process, countless chemical reactions are taking place transforming the green unroasted coffee seeds into sweet smelling coffee beans. How this process unfolds has a massive impact on the final expression, or flavor, of the brewed coffee. At Joe Coffee, each coffee is roasted uniquely to highlight the inherent flavors locked within, a process referred to as roast profiling.

In our roasting fundamentals class, you will learn about the science of coffee roasting, its impact on flavor, and how we approach highlighting the potential and complexity of the coffees we offer.

This is a great class for any curious coffee enthusiast looking to learn more about coffee roasting and its impact on flavor.

Please note: This class is held over Zoom. We like to encourage participation from all students- if you are comfortable and able, feel free to turn your camera and microphone on so we can all engage with one another! Dial-in details will be provided 24 hours prior to the start time of class.
